CAPABILITIES
KIMS Department of Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) is fully equipped with the very latest equipment to deal with every related medical condition.
The department has its own ICU, OR, Anesthesia Team, Perfusionist Technology Team and Intensivists, advanced post operative surgical ICU and step down ward and two operation theaters with state of the art equipment.
In fact, KIMS CTVS not only involve themselves in performing cardiac, thoracic and vascular surgeries , but also render regular technical and specialty support to the trauma unit, cardiology unit, transplant unit, and pulmonology unit within the hospital.
SERVICES
Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) Surgery
Redo CABGs, minimally invasive CABG and Beating heart surgery. CABG in renal failure, Emergency CABG in Acute Myocardial Infarction, CABG along with Valve Replacements.
Heart Valve Surgery-Valve replacement and repair.
Congenital Heart Surgeries
ASD and VSD closures, Repair of Tetralogy of Fallot/Pentalogy, Fontana's procedure, Complex Congenital defect repairs, Palliative surgery: BT shunting.
Vascular surgery
Aortic Aneurysm repair, Peripheral vascular repairs, Carotid endartectomy, Aorto femoral by-pass surgery, Surgery for varicose veins.
Thoracic Surgery
Lobectomy, Pneumonectomy, Thoracoscopic surgery, Thymectomy, Mediastinal Mass Esophageal Surgery.
REFERRALS
KIMS has a large referral base from within the hospital and outside. Our patients often come for second opinions and counseling, for which our senior consultants are always available in the OPD.

CME Programs
KIMS CTVS Department is also actively involved in conducting CME programs not only to update the doctors of other faculties, but also to interact with fellow colleagues from other countries to keep abreast of the latest advances in the field.
Rural Camps
KIMS CTVS Department conducts regular camps in rural areas to propagate medical awareness related to Cardiology, Pulmonology and Vascular diseases. Patients suffering from any of the above are given the opportunity to familiarize themselves with medical facts pertaining to their specific health problems.
